What is Fractal art?

Fractals are fragmented geometric shapes that can be split into parts, each of which is usually a reduced-size copy of the whole, a property called self-similarity. The idea of Fractals go back to the 17th century and mathematically rigorous treatment of fractals can be traced back to functions studied by Karl Weierstrass, Georg Cantor and Felix Hausdorff a century later in studying functions. The term fractal, however, was coined by Benoît Mandelbrot in 1975 and was derived from the Latin word fractus meaning 'broken' or 'fractured'While fractals are a mathematical construct, they are also found in nature, which has led to their inclusion in artwork

@Zazzle Artistic Tributes to 9/11/01

Today we remember and honor everyone affected by 9/11 ten years ago. We also need say a prayer for those who fight for us and protect us everyday. Let us not give glory to those who have devastated families, countries and left hearts broken by headlining rumors, conspiracies and spreading the names of evildoers... but today let us honor the fallen. One Nation under God... United we stand. Our hearts go out to you! ♥

I will not be posting a Daily Dose Zazzler today. Instead, I will be featuring a few of my favorite designs that were made to be honoring the fallen. A new Daily Dose Zazzler will be featured tomorrow. Thanks for tuning in to the Daily Dose.
